Am I a good candidate for LASIK?

Laser vision correction can treat a very broad range of nearsightedness, farsightedness and astigmatism.

The best way for you to determine if you are a good candidate for LASIK is with a thorough exam from your eye doctor and by answering the following questions.

  • Are you 18 years old or more?
  • Are you in good general health?
  • Do you have good eye health with no diseases such as cataracts or glaucoma?
  • Have you had the same contact lens or glasses prescription for a year or more?
  • Are you comfortable with a reasonable amount of risk?
  • Does your employer and/or health insurance cover refractive procedures or are you prepared to manage the cost?

Through an initial consultation with your Dr. McArdle and his staff, we’ll confirm if you are a good candidate, explain the procedure, and answer your questions so that you can make an informed decision. We are dedicated to doing what is  best for you, our  patient.
